Hi, Mr. Mark here! First, allow me to present my mission statement:
Mr. Mark is passionate about music and its positive effects on the overall development of children and he is commited to leading fun, informal, and socially engaging classes that support each child's musical development.
Now, a bit about me. I started my association with Music Together® as a dad attending classes with my family. I have since been actively involved with young people and music since my teacher training hosted by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, NJ, in 1999. As a registered Music Together teacher during the last 20 years, I have had the pleasure of making music with more than 1,800(!) individual children and their families.
When not leading Music Together classes (and when not sleeping, which I don't do nearly as much as I would like--sound familiar?), I teach formal music lessons in piano, guitar, clarinet, and drums to many young people and adults. Some of my students are former Music Together children!
Some evenings, I perform my brand of jazz music at festivals and other events. I am a composer of stage musicals and I have a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Illinois. (My diploma's in a box in one of the closets around here...I think.)
